BT are scum, I just found out that I had been opted-in to BTFon. Which is some rip off where bt let others use your broadband. Now I have to wait for it to be disabled before my home network will work properly again. Also the mobile bt broadband dongle never works. When it comes to bitching about BT we could all be here for weeks. BT are utter idiots!!!

Sue I tried Eclipse (http://www.eclipse.net.uk/) and didnt like the fact that about every 10/15 minutes I had to sign on again, after 4 days I decided to cancel, they sent me a bill for £58 cancellation fee, emailed them and told them I would see them in court, they replied invoice cancelled.

Guess who didn't read/understand the contract? I'd have taken you to court. The signing-on was probably due to the fact that you didn't allow enough time for the broadband connection to settle. Or to you incorrectly setting it up.

We had a bad experience with BT. We had a problem with our phone line and BT insisted it was inside and offered an engineer to call at the cost of a call out charge of £145 and £45 for any work involved. We got someone independent to come and check, he checked our inside line and said there was no problem,he then phoned BT and told them the problem was the outside line. They then sent one of their engineers around and he said he would have to disconnect our phone while he could go and sort it. It was quickly sorted and we were back to normal that same day at the cost of £15 for our man to check it out.

It was set up perfectly, but what you do not know is for them the 14 day cooling off period begins from the day you place the order and 14 days later you are connected with no opportunity to try it out, you say you would have taken me to court. I checked with a solicitor and he advised that the 14 day cooling off period before receiving the service was unfair, so for a big company why didnt they not take me to court?
