THESE are the 11 heroes YOU voted the winners of our Animal Action Awards. They include a rescuer who saved dogs from the Asian tsunami to two brave cameramen whose work helped trigger a ban on barbaric hunts. The eight category winners will be honoured with trophies at a glittering ceremony at the House of Lords on Thursday. The People has teamed up with IFAW to present the awards and the charity's UK director Robbie Marsland said: "The winners are an inspiration to us all."

COMMITMENT AWARD:

PATRICIA Neale, 70, has spent the last 23 years training dogs at her school in Dawlish, Devon. She has raised money to buy 60 guide dogs for the blind and two hearing dogs. She's also donated more than £40,000 to other animal charities.
