When Devon genealogy expert Mary Boyd delved into the family history of one of her clients, she little expected it would lead to her taking part in an ITV television show.Mary Boyd, who runs genealogy service Plantagenesta Family History Research in Kenton, was invited to take part in the feature with client Heather Ellor, from Dawlish. The programme, produced by Meridian Television, is about a 19th century Windsor mansion called New Lodge, built for Jean Sylvan Van der Weyer, Belgian ambassador to the court of Queen Victoria. It focuses on the attempts of the present owners, Marchday PLC, to discover more about the social history of the house.
