Commuters are still angry over the latest changes to First Great Western's Devon timetables.Although some journey times are faster, a number of intermediate stops have been removed. Trains to Barnstaple are down by one each day and commuters from Teignmouth and Dawlish are still without the 7.46am service from Dawlish to Exeter. Glenda Lamont, the train company's customer services director, said: "I know many are concerned about the changes to their journey as a result of the recent timetable changes. "Some of these issues have arisen because of our own operational problems, others because we recognise elements of the timetable haven't met all customers' needs. "Whilst not wishing to promise something we cannot deliver, we have a team of people looking at what may be possible for early in the New Year." Mrs Lamont's announcement comes after an Early Day Motion by MP Edward Vaizey called upon FGW and the Department for Transport to take urgent steps to reintroduce sufficient capacity. The motion criticised the overcrowding caused by the reduction in services and the use of the smaller Adelante trains, rather than the usual high speed trains.
