I was hoping all you lovely people of Dawlish would be so kind as to help me out?. I am a 33 year old Disabled Gentleman suffering with Bipolar Disorder which is a Mental Health Disorder.

Bipolar Disorder is defined as

Bipolar - The Facts

  • 1% to 2% of the population experience a lifetime prevalence of bipolar and recent research suggests as many as 5% of us are on the bipolar spectrum.
  • Bipolar also has a huge impact on family and friends.
  • On average it takes 10.5 years to receive a correct diagnosis for bipolar in the UK and and before bipolar is diagnosed there is a misdiagnosis an average of 3.5 times.
  • Compared to other health problems, treatment of bipolar is still badly affected by misunderstanding and stigma.
  • Bipolar affects every aspect of your life and your rnd atelationship. Family and friends can all be put under stress. This is why you need to get a correct diagnosis, accept treatment and start to learn how you can adapt your lifestyle to cope with the ups and downs.

I am preparing for a Charity Fundraising Walk to raise money for the Charity starting from The Falcon Hotel in Bude, Cornwall on Saturday 8th September 2012, With the kind permission of Virgin Money they have allowed us to set up a Donations Page and I wondered as i live in Dawlish itself if any of you kind hearted people would be willing to sponsor me regardless of the amount. It is an ongoing Fundraiser and the Charity Fundraising Page can be found at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=BipolarAwareness   Please do not forget to Gift Aid as HMRC pays the tax back into the charity and all donations go directly 100% to Bipolar UK. For further info please don't hesitate to view the page above. Thankyou Paul

Don't know if we can all club together to raise a little amount of cash for a Mental Health Charity known as Bipolar UK www.bipolar.org.uk They rely on donations and as it's something I have been suffering with for years and live in Dawlish Warren. I have decided to do a sponsored walk in September starting from Bude in Cornwall.

I have created a website dedicated to those who need the help and assistance without asking for handouts or asking for lottery money and maintain it all on my own.

If anyone wishes to visit my site please feel free to do so at

www.bipolartoday.squarespace.com/

You may wish to support the charity or support me via accesing the TAB on the website "Bipolar Awareness Charity Page" and clicking on the logo Sponsor me or visit The charity fundraising page itself which can be accessed at

Please dig deep and support a worthwhile cause. We have written to Local Newspapers Dawlish and Teignmouth Gazette, and asked a few businesses but we need all the help we can get. Thankyou Paul

Hi Paul. Good luck with your fundraising - your efforts at drumming up support are really admirable and should be a lesson to others. However, whilst I cannot claim to be speaking for others, I myself suggest that you might do even better if you posted about your fundraising on just the one thread, rather than five different ones at the same time. I'm not having a pop, honestly, just trying to be constructive mate. Good luck. :-)
