I hadn't realised the parking was going outside the Laundrette but I think getting at David Force is unfair.  No wonder he's stepping down as chairman.  Interesting points made about whether the required road traffic orders had been applied for.

As I am not on Facebook, can you provide some of the conversationon here please?

Also, does it say why the parking is going from outside the Launderette?

Apparentley the parking outside the Launderette is going to be the new Taxi rank. It seems Mr Force is getting the stick because the chamber of trade obviousely knew about this and kept it between themselves and the council. As mentioned it seems quite logical that if shopping ever returns to the town and most people are being forced to park on Barton Hill then the Taxi rank should be there to.

No doubt Mr Clayson will be able to explain the other point being made that this change to the parking bay is not on any of the plans.

@Fred.

Many thanks for that, and yes, that does seem very naughty indeed.

I thought it was just two spaces to be used for Taxis, and outside the cafe, not the launderette.

The chamber mailing list all got sent details of what was being proposed by the councils with an opportunity to give feedback. I'm no longer a member but I still got it.

if the councils chose not to consult residents in that area then that's a poor show but it's not the chamber's fault. (I will admit I haven't looked at Facebook)

david is stepping down after three excellent years as chair, he has worked very hard for the chamber and Dawlish but now needs time to do other things.
