Just to warn anyone who walks this way especially with their children or dogs, there seems to be a sewerage leak in Secmaton Lane running from Bovis Homes.  I've notified SWW, they were really quick sorting out the last one, so fingers crossed.  Not nice to walk through.

Flo, you should get an OBE for services to leaks :)

I've obviously got a nose for it (and wish I didn't!)

Just walked along the lane on way to bootfair at Sainsbury;s. There was a bit of a pong just before the lane leads onto the main road. Is that where you had in mind Flo or was where you smelt the nasty niff nearer the new houses?

It's further up where it's running down the road. You can see it as well as smell it! They've come back to me to say they'll look at it asap but I've just reminded them schools start tomorrow and parents with kids don't want to be wading through it!

heard from a resident that south west water are saying it is because of cooking fat being put down the drains. How long have the houses been built, god knows ehat it will be like when all are occupied.

That is SWW's default response.  When we were responsible for our shared drain that was the mantra until we finally got someone in who did a proper review of the drainage only to find there was a tree root growing through the drain as well as the end of the drain not being built properly with too sharp a bend.  At least it shut the neighbour up who believed all the women were responsible for putting inappropriate objects into the system.

Yes but this drainage has only just been laid so why should this block up unless it has been done on the cheap, in which case it is going to be an on going problem.

That's probably the case Ken.  I would guess something hasn't been done properly.
