The 39 year old bar complex boss also suffered a blow to his head as he was forced to hand over £10,000 Bank Holiday takings from a safe.
He then called for police and ambulance but went back into his own office behind the bar and stole £8,270 which he stuffed into his back pocket.
The married father of three denied theft but was convicted by a jury but yesterday (WEDY) he was spared an immediate jail sentence.
The judge jailed him for 18 months, suspended for two years, ordered him to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and pay £500 to court costs.
