Dawlish on flood alert ahead of predicted tidal surge. The Environment Agency has issued flood warnings for parts of the Devon coast. Beesands, Torcross, Slapton, Torbay and Dawlish are today on flood alert ahead of a predicted tidal surge. The Environment Agency warning has been issued for high tide on Friday morning. The organisation said waves of up to 3.3m could coincide with high water levels, resulting in "spray overtopping and some onshore flooding

A letter from Network Rail today say that due to an incoming weather event expected midday Friday, 13th February that they urgently need to concrete the next bay of installed precast concrete units to avoid any damage caused by wave action.

They propose to commence pumping mass concrete behind the installed wall units at 01.00 am Friday 13th February.
