On the morning of the 5th Oct I found somebody (idiot) had smashed completely the only bench in Barton Car Park Woods, pity CCtv cant see into that part of the woods

Do we even have CCTV? Are we still paying for CCTV that isn't providing a service at all? I honestly do not know where we have got to with CCTV in Dawlish, it all seemed to fade into the background during the last administration. 

At £80.000 cost and has not caught any criminal act its a waste of money, they do not pan automatically, they only pan when operated from Newton Abbot control, a few years ago PC Parsons (before he retired)  showed me a letter he had written and sent to the Town Council and Newton Abbot asking that the camera infront of the now coop not to leave it pointed at the Keep left sign and recording all night after they went home.

The one on the sea front cannot see a thing as it is covered in salt, quite a joke really. I wonder what the operating yearly cost is.

Bench has been replaced, an old one but perfectly fine and looks strong enough to stop the idiots breaking it.  So thanks TDC
