Hi all,

Can you advise any family friendly pubs in the town where one could get a few drinks and a nice meal?  Just looking for pub classics kind of food, nothing too fancy.  We hope to visit the town this weekend to explore and might want a bite before we drive north again.

Thanks

The Marine Tavern on the front do nice pizzas and more. There is the Smugglers Inn up the hill towards Teignmouth but I haven't eaten there for a while :) Plenty of places in Dawlish Warren.

Then there's the Brunswick Arms along Brunswick Place in the town centre.

Or you could go out of town and go along to Cockwood. Two pubs there - The Ship and The

Anchor. Both do food.

Hi Jelly, yes agree with S and Lynne on pub grub choices, with The Ship and The Anchor especially good for fish dishes.

Closer to Dawlish, the Mount Pleasant Inn on the south side of Dawlish Warren is also good for food and (on a clear day - tomorrow, maybe!) has elevated views of the Jurassic Coast towards Lyme Bay.

Hope you have a good fact-finding mission - and look forward to receiving feedback from you in the future.

might be wise to pre book @Jelly - popular places can fill up quickly.

Certainly the Smugglers gets booked up very early for Sundays; but then it's not in the town so maybe it wouldn't suit you best anyway.  I'd agree with S's suggestion of the Marine.
