Great Britain’s Frederick Holman touches first to win gold

Gold, 200m breaststroke, London 1908

The Dawlish, Devon, swimmer was triumphant in London. Breaststroke was the dominant stroke due to the disease risk, but he died of typhoid fever, five years later, aged 29.
