Teignbridge Council planners had been asked to approve plans to build three, two storey detached houses in the grounds of La Falaise, 9 Old Teignmouth Road,

The site, halfway between Dawlish and Teignmouth, is close to the South West Cliff Path, and also overhangs the Dawlish railway line.

Speaking at the meeting, Cllr Prowse said: “In spite of all the numbers here, in the recommendation, I don't believe that this scale of development should take place in this land.

“I live on this land and have for 40 years and I have seen a great deal of cliff fall, and we have a great deal of concern about the stability of the cliff.

Plenty of houses along that road already and one that is right on the edge above Coryton Cove, a load of hype about nothing. If I'm reading it right the application was submitted Dec 2014 with a target date of 16/05/2017.

Only one objection to this planning request by one of their neighbours.

If you take into account some of the planning applications, that were not inkeeping with their surroundings, that have been given approval over the last few years around Dawlish. I would say this application should have no problem going through.
