A vast new 65-acre countryside park in Dawlish will open in September. Work will soon be complete on the £250,000 project to create the new Dawlish Countryside Park which will be public open space with wild countryside and walks and will be home to native species including wildflower grassland, scrub and woodland, and native wildlife, such as cirl buntings.

The event - “A Family Day Where Dogs Can Play!" - will be a fun-packed day for all ages to enjoy, whether or not you have a dog to bring with you.

'will be home to native species'........... it already was before this half hearted attempted at a poorly located location was adopted as an after thought  to the local developer's concrete jungle of poorly built houses crammed into a small field. Hopefully they will put more effort into this counrty park development than the developers did with the 'green space' for the secmanton lane development!

Unless it's been altered (and I don't think it has) the Local Plan for Dawlish shows that  there is  to be a green 'corridor' betweeen the Gatehouse developments and the development at the Langdon Hospital site.
