I came past the Red Rock Cafe a couple of days ago after it was closed and there was lots of rubbish scattered over the ground between the cafe and the beach on the Dawlish side of the Red Rock, (or Langstone Rock if you want the correct name). I had a word with the owners today and was told that the council had removed the rubbish bins, (probably to save paying for people to empty them) and ...

I don't know the circumstances of this accident and I certainly hope that the child is ok and the driver of the vehicle not traumatised. However, in my time in Dawlish, since the council removed the zebra crossing, I have noticed many people, including parents with children crossing the road at or near the point where the old zebra used to be. I agree that to charge £40 is a lot, but taxi drivers have to make a profit too. All too many of them are struggling to make a decent living.
