Depends on what you look for in a pub- if you want to be surrounded by teeny-boppers and tossers- the Lansdowne is the place to be! The pubs in Dawlish have gone downhill since Ray left the South Devon (going back some years for the teeny-boppers reading this!). It had cheap drink, a nice friendly atmosphere- and great karaoke / bands downstairs!

If you looking for great kareoke then you should go to the Teignmouth Inn on a friday, the drinks aren't that expensive and the atmosphere is great too!

thats a laugh its only the best if you want too come out stinking of smoke, drowned in beer, want to watch big screens all the time, foul language, uncouth behaviour, see old men thinking they are a catch by oggling women who want to go out for a drink without being bothered and abused by the drunks at the bar

lansdowne my have the best host but attracting the best customers foul language, over indulgence, surely a good host knows when his customers have had enough and should maintain standards without a police involvement, behaviour is leaving a lot to be desired, clean it up before the 2007 season arrives how can you expect visitors to respect dawlish if residents dont know how to

Just look at the people that stand around outside smoking and always on the mobile. The blackboard with the football info says it all.
You have to go out of town, which is a shame but from a business point of view the pubs cater for Dawlish.

To Ray and Jan
No problem, just telling it like it is :) Often reminisce about your 'happy hours' downstairs. Hope you're happy and well- wherever you are!

Now that the smoking ban has kicked in and it is an offence to drink outside the pub £75 smackers if you are caught, make sure CCTV can't see you. If it can, then you could also end up paying another £75 smackers for dropping your butt on the ground(litter). You have been warned and it could be a costly drink.
