A NEW local plan for Dawlish could take an important step forward next month as the locally prepared Neighbourhood Plan for the town goes to an independent public examination.

The town is one of the first in the country to pioneer the Neighbourhood Planning system, which enables a Steering Group made up of local people, community groups and councillors to come together and create a plan for homes, jobs, new facilities, tourism and more.
