A 26 mile (42km) Devon cycle trail is a step closer to completion with the opening of a bridge at Topsham near Exeter.

The £2.5m bridge over the River Clyst is the latest link in the Exe Trail between Exmouth, Exeter and Dawlish.

It was built by Devon County Council as part of a national cycle route planned to link Kent with Cornwall.

Council officers are working with landowners to complete the Exe Trail at Powderham Castle.

Don't understand this news item.  I thought the bridge over the Clyst (at Fisher's Bridge Mill) had been open for months.  Well, we've been walking over it, open or not.

Is this that same bridge? From the photograph it looks like it is next to the railway bridge further down the Clyst between the one at The Bridge Inn and  the bottom end of Bowling Green Marsh.
