I always really enjoy this feature in the paper, mainly because I look forward to seeing how wrong John Southall's positional sense is when he takes his photos. Todays edition is yet another case in point, bless him.

So, yet another post which is not as nice as it seems in the first few words.

Barbed comments are not sweetened by a 'bless him'

Are these so-called "barbed" comments contrary to the T&Cs of this website?  Or are they merely light-hearted opinion designed to maybe start a discussion about the topic?

Does something have to be against the T&C's to be unpleasant or designed to cause offence?

What is light-hearted about trying to start a thread criticising someone who is just sharing a love of photographing views and comparing them with historical images?

Wow, you're very uptight about this aren't you? I assume that you must be friends with John. I'm not sure whether the others who have pressed Agree on your post are also friends with him, as they clearly haven't got the nouse to post a comment about the subject.

My point was that his comparisons, whilst being genuinely fascinating are, more often than not, misplaced. That's all. Goodness me, you lot are ridiculous with your focusing on me rather than the subject.

I think Duckileaks and some others see you and your remarks for what for what they are

No, not a friend of John, never met him.

Tend not to like your sort of behaviour and chose this time to say so.

I'm not uptight either, generally the most relaxed person going, but there comes a time when even I choose not to see both sides and actually say when someone is out of order, so -

You're out of order!

Nasty, snide, vindictive, sly or any other word you care to like to describe your style, - you choose...

Elvis. did you ever apologise for taking the piss out of that poor woman who was killed in the RTA?  No, I didn't think so you truly vile creature. Compare that to my gentle observation about a local newspaper feature for gods sake, and I suspect you're yet another member of the elderly rank and file with zero sense of perspective.

However if even a certifiable nutter like Annother is having a go at me, then it's clearly time for me to take a bow and say goodnight.

To be fair to Elvis Mrs C, he did make that offensive comment before he knew the woman had died.

I think it'd be better if most people bowed out (and I include myself), took a break, wiped the slate clean and if necessary, came back with new usernames and a different approach.  At least the baggage would be left behind albeit ready for a new set to be built up.

Well I for one don't intend to change my user name, this is the first time that I can remember directly challenging another user here.

I feel better for doing so too.  Too long have I sat and observed, this may be the start of a new, more engaged Duckileaks..... or it may not, I may just carry on in my usual way.

After all, there's more to life than this ol' load of rollocks.

Judith Chalmers you clearly worded your post to be patronisingly offensive.  If you don't like people telling you so, then you should avoid posting in such a way in the first place.
