BBC 1 "Do you want to search?" Yes/no

That's what keeps popping up on my mum's tv screen about every 10 seconds or so and she can't get rid of it. It only pops up on BBC1, no other channels, and only on one of her two tv sets.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how she can get rid of it?

It is driving her nuts and also means she can't really watch BBC1 on that particular tele (it's the main one downstairs) as it takes up a chunk of the screen and covers the subtitles that she needs to follow the programme (she's quite deaf).

Be ever so grateful for any advice (and my mum even more so).

Thanks

What brand of television is hers - my hunch is that it's something to do with searching the channel guide. Or if she has a Smart TV (Internet telly) it might be a Search function on that.

If the telly is still in guarantee, phone up the retailer.

I take it you have done a scan for new channelsas directed by freeview a week ago. If not give that a try.
