Accident Waiting to Happen !!!!!!

Sorry I don't usually post (and hope this okay) but today I feel the need to rant ! As a parent of children at Gatehouse school I am growing more and more concerned around our childrens safety. Once again this morning and yesterday morning the construction traffic outside of Gatehouse Ace Academy was causing chaos. Despite assurances from the builders that construction traffic will be limited around school pick up and drops offs this is evidently not the case.

This picture took yesterday shows a large construction vehicle parked on double yellows unloading at 8:30 making visibility for car drivers and pedestrians extremely difficult. With no safe place for our children to cross the road this is surely an accident waiting to happen. It was the same again this morning

I am concerned that nothing will be done until a child is injured or worse !

Sarah Bates-Ryan Couldn't agree more. The construction traffic is a nightmare at pickup and drop off. Crossing that road is simply treacherous!!!

Jan Gillard Made worse by parents who do the same, park both sides of road on double yellow lines when dropping off and picking up their children. Two wrongs don't make a right!

Nicky Mcglynn Well said. Only last week an ambulance was blocked by bovis vehicles as it was trying to reach a sick child on Finistere at the top.
They also need to SLOW DOWN

Jan Gillard Yes they should not be doing that; but neither should the parents park on double yellow lines both sides of the road when picking up and dropping off. It works both ways, this causes just as many problems. Was even worse when they had a parents evening or similar recently, no emergency vehicle would have got through, we only just got our car through.

Ken Parker Report them to Teignbridge District Council planning department giving the the name of the company and if you know it the site being delivered to. TDC is the responsible authority and unless we bombard them with complaints nothing will happen. Speak up or get walked over, don't forget the plan is still to use ELM GROVE ROAD to deliver to the NWSECMATON site so 10 more years of this.

Kelly Beasley Not just for school drop off either, I live in the barns and many times have nearly hit or been hit by another driver when passing these huge trucks! X
