General Discussion

It is extremely expensive to hire in the winter for what I think are probably obvious reasons. The Carnival? Not involved in its organisation so can't speak for Carnival organisers, but suspect there would be not enough room on the lawn area for skating rink and all the other activities.

I think ALL are agreed that it was far too small. However, that said, it did prove extremely popular especially with the younger children. Would you want it back next year if it were bigger?

Would just like to say that my teenage daughter and her mates went and loved it. A neighbourhood got nagged by her kids to go each day. And I've just received an e-mail from a friend saying what a great time she and her kids had. Only complaint seems to be that it wasn't big enough. And on that point I'll say no more........! Well done Dawlish Chamber of Trade.

Lots of kids seeming to enjoy themselves. Possibly should have been advertised as a skating rink (as opposed to ice skating) but there you are. Same philosophy as dry ski slope ski-ing - if we don't have snow and ice then we have to improvise. If it's a success then great and it seemed to be today. Lots of people in the town.

Don't Forget!! Ice Rink on The Lawn, Saturday 3rd, Sunday 4th and Monday 5th May. £3.50 per session (includes hire of skates). Sat & Sun 12noon- 8pm Mon. 10am - 6pm

Posters up in some shops in town - should be more posters and publicity soon. For more info on this contact Julian Ford at Inspirations gift shop in Brunswick Place. e-mail: inspirations-daw@hotmail.co.uk
