Oh well, at least one upside of the storms was getting the beach totally clean. But seriously, I think tourists from urban areas are very used to dog issues.  In G.London it is almost impossible now to find a park where dogs are not a thorough nuisance in all respects including being threatening.  The best that can be hoped for is to find the 5% of a park that is defined as 'no dogs' fenced off ...

So there you have it - comprehensively self outed. This may now be white washed as a mistake etc etc, but it would never had happened in the first place if some tiny little arragant brain cells weren't quietly firing along these lines on a regular basis in the first place. Many heavily used beaches (certainly in the SE) have zones that ban dogs in summer months for lots of good reasons.

Yes I can see that as a great idea, a stopper from Ex.S.D. to Honiton via the airport to allow for passing.  Main SWT service could then run fast Honiton to Ex.Central.  As you say, a bit more complicated than that with all the single line restrictions along there.

Very interesting 'fly through' to watch on the interactive.  I may be wrong but it seems that there planned new are east and west chords to the mainline railway into a 'freight terminal'.  The interesting thing is that it heads fairly directly towards the runway but stops short of it .... so while constructing it, surely there would be some sense in extending it just a little further and bingo you ...

@leatash - totnes has some exemplary flower beds on the platform.  makes passengers think, 'this is a town where people care about things'.  well it does to me anyway! @Lynne - a few years ago hundreds of tonnes of timber spectacularly washed up on worthing beach from a ship.  there is now a stained glass display of the event along the windbreak on the pier.  so yes, good idea to make a ...
