American Pitbull and Staffordshire Bull Terrier, what a surprise, both these breeds look very dodgy.

Why do people have these evil beasts in their homes?

@stephen15, I didn't know that, cheers. Perhaps something useful can come out of this, may be a wake up call to other owners.

@Paul - i think you will find in most breeds the attitude of the dog, however evil you think it may look, is usually attributed to the way it is treated as it grow up. a bit like humans. would you also condone putting down any humans who you thought looked evil. i'm sure in the eyes of their owner they are not seen in that light.

OK. It's a shame that dogs killing people will just continue unnecessarily.

@Paul !!!! you shouldnt be so ignorant and let the media consume your thoughts!! research deeper and expereicne more.

"Pitbulls are highly trainable, which has been beneficial for anyone wanting a wonderful companion or service dog, but that same trait ahs also proven to be a donfall twhen the breed is exploited"

It is simply because of their natural instincts, that any dog has, and how their surroundings have affected them, just as any animal (including humans...) develop emotionally. They are sensitive, loyal dogs that will do anything to please their owner unless their owner has betrayed them which happens far too often becauseoftheir capability to be used as "fight dogs" or "bait dogs" their prices go up to $50,000 and people get murdered over them.

Please do not suppor the stygma that has been created behind pitbulls as they are not the demonous animals people percieve them to be. I hope you have learned that over the past two years.

They used to be known as "nanny dogs". I have owned a german shepherd and a pitbull and they were my favorite dogs ever.

@Paul - it's bigots with this attitude that are more dangerous than the ocassional dog, that has more than likely been mistreated, i suppose if you went far enough back in time your ancestors most probably enjoyed witch hunting!
