I have witnessed two beggars walking around Dawlish begging for money. I personally apprehended one and laid the law down to him. He gave me a lot of flack but I stood my ground. Disapointingly there were still people giving him money. Today he was outside of the post office(Strand) begging from old aged pensioners who I presume had just drawn their pensions Where are the police, where is the town manager or where are the community support officers and what use are the CCTV cameras? We now know why these sorts are attracted to Dullish, there is no one to stop them.

Interesting that you use the word “Dullish”.  Sounds like a blast from the past...

Bringing the Town Manager and CCTV into your rant is irrelevant. However you do have a very valid point about begging in general. It’s disgraceful that people have to beg in order to put food on their plate. This is 2017.

Professional beggars preying on the elderly, they should be arrested.  It's illegal to beg in this country.

I had a beggar try the same yesterday in Dawlish, me being me, decided that I would do something to help, I offered to get them a hot drink and a bite to eat, and they refused and asked me for the money instead...the answer was no, and he moved on...drugs I guess.

They don't need people to give them food because they steal it from the Co-op. They are only looking for drugs and alcohol.
