Agreed, they also had an opportunity to put themselves forward as a real alternative party, but played it safe in my opinion. But then there's a thin line between alienating or scaring voters and devising a vision to inspire. I think they underestimated how difficult it was to argue on matters other than tackling austerity and the economy. But then again the party's roots are  middle class. ...

The public's perception of the leaders is based on how they are portryaed in the media too, Cameron was hardly lambasted compared to the others. I wonder why? And before I get lambasted burnside, you do have a point, Milliband, Clegg and Bennett all showed naivety and a lack of awareness. And maybe t it woul've been different under the other brother.

I definitely am a member of the public and I'm certainly disllusioned with the staus quo for social and environmental reasons, economic too. And dealing with them as separate, supposedly unconnected issues really makes me despair. I couldn't be a party member or activist, but I do ...

@ Soul Of Dawlish. Sorry but no I can't virtually shake your hand. And I felt your olive branch to Doc was a hollow gesture, but I do understand that by admitting you were wrong would be political suicide, so it is a game you have to play. Doc exposed flaws and inconsistencies in the Liberal Democrats supposed policies and questioned their integrity as have I. But I understand that as a ...
