Yup, Carer is right: certainly is a Buzzard. They do get hassled a lot by crows, rooks etc. Anyway, wouldn't you eat your picnic in the shade on a day like this ?

And our unique bookshop (though not an internet cafe) has just packed it in after years of trying.

Er h'rm.  Excuse me, but to get back to the original question ... What we need, IMHO, is a better choice of fresh food shops.  Someone already mentioned the fresh fish shop that we lost: we could also do with more choice of butchers', greengrocers' etc. but i'm sure we won't get it.  as @wondering and @wriggler have said, the competition from supermarkets and the www is just too much.

Toilets at Boat Cove closed as well.  You can tell it's July, can't you ?

Got to say (as a pensioner) I'd rather pay tax on my winter fuel allowance than have it taken away altogether (as often suggested recently).  And remember, large numbers of pensioners don't get enough to pay tax anyway so it would make no difference to them/us.  Want to hit the "rich pensioners" ? ... then maybe this is the way to do it.  (Whether the civil service's computer systems could cope is ...

Wonder what a new HMRC system has got to do with the Home Office ?

We pay £47.50/month of which about 60% is sewerage.  We are metered.
