£280 is the price to get on the train when you want to and walk on it back when it suits, those other prices are pre-booking subject to availability, not booked seats miss the train back or its full and its another £120. When it costs more than a weeks take home pay to tarvel to London the country is well and truly STUFFED

Well if she knows when she is going why not book it NOW.. seats are available. You cant drive a car to London for £38 can you or maybe a taxi is cheaper then? Mark 'negative' on every subject! Make sure you vote for change then lol.

Ok ill try again Yipee £280 walk on fare to London, what a great price, so cheap, how fortunate we are to live in a country where rail travel is so cheap, and if the trains full on the way home, what the heck another Hour in London for such little extra, yipee, wonderful.

Like most reading this thread (I would imagine), I don't understand why Mark is getting so hot and bothered. I've just gone onto thetrainline.com website. The next train from Dawlish to Paddington at the time of writing leaves at 13:19. A one way ticket is £38.50. Seriously, what's the problem - that represents great value for money. By the way, it costs no more to reserve a seat - you can even choose which direction seat (forward facing or backward facing), whether you want an aisle or window seat, a table seat, etc, etc. Or I could do the same journey leaving at 08:19 tomorrow morning for £46.00 (or just £30 at that time on the 19th!!). Monday 19th, at seriously peak time (06:20), it would cost me £87.50, which I think is fair enough. Mind you I'm not a Tory MP, therefore I'm more than happy to travel Standard Class. As a kind of comparison, I flew from Exeter to Edinburgh and back again yesterday and it cost £175. Plus diesel, plus £45 parking at the airport (ouch! - lesson learnt there) and £20 taxi fares at the other end. Still good value though and would be even better no doubt if I'd booked more than 4 days in advance.

Thank you DM for confirming what I found. £2.25 return Dawlish - Exeter Central with the Devon Resident card I see as good value too.

I know its a bit late but have only just joined the site, If you ever need another lift up the big city I travel there every week but the days vary usually in the eening time. So if needed again I can help.

You mean, "re-joined the site". You do well to afford to run your vehicle on your job seekers allowance. Well done.

No I dont mean "re-joined". Having not read a thread correctly has made you look a bit foolish hasnt it. Once again for the hard of reading " I WAS UNEMPLOYED BUT HAD TO GET EMPLOYMENT ELSE WHERE, IN LONDON" moron.

Although you are new to the forum, you have clearly not had a problem in adopting the tone of many of the veterans and can give as good as you get.

An unregistered guest who used the name "lazlo woodbine" posted on here previously. What a coincidence. User 4549, at least lazlo knows how to register a name.

Sorry I thought I was on dawlish.com forum but instead I have found my self on dawlishman.com forum. I replied to the thread to offer assistance to someone wanting to go to London, although late but offered for future (and this applies to anyone else wanting a lift to London area) and have been accused of being some one else (although I doubt the web master would let two people sign in with the same username) and full of bullshit. Are all newcomers treated in such ways by the resident know it all internet warrior?

Behave yourself Lazlo. There was a user on here (might not have been a registered user, as this was back in the day when guests could post using any user name, e.g. Roy, Dullish, etc), called Lazlo Woodbine. Mwah!
