A landowner of a Topsham farm was given police protection when he served notice to quit on a group of gipsies who had set up camp on his farm. Around 30 travellers of Irish origin occupied land at Seabrook Farm off Topsham Road on Monday evening. They claim they are in Devon to see the confirmation of a family member. One of the owners of Seabrook Farm, who asked not to be named, claimed that the gipsies illegally invaded his field. He said: "They illegally accessed the field, which was chained and padlocked by our tractor driver on Sunday night.
