Fire fighters from Dawlish and Teignmouth were called out deal with a to a 'suspicious' barn fire at Eastdon House, near Starcross, in the evening hours of Saturday.
Upon arrival the fire crews found that a Dutch barn containing 10 large bales of straw and a large quantity of cardboard was well alight.
The fire fighters used 2 hosereel jets and 1 jet to deal with the fire and removed the bales of straw from the barn using mechanical farm machinery on site.
Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service reported that the cause of the fire was believed to be suspicious.
A Dutch barn is a type of barn used specifically to store hay and straw.
