It has been over a month now since the arson attack on the play area at the Manor.
There has been much talk about who carried it out (without any proof) no one has been charged as far as is known.
AND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO REPLACE THE EQUIPEMENT.
If for instance the Manor House had been burnt down, a replacement would have been found pretty smartly. All equipement would have been replaced and things would be back to normal in no time.
Here we have much used play equipement damaged and not a glimmer of help from the council to even consider replacing it and what is even worse, the parents of those that badly need it replaced are speechless. If I had some vested interest, I am sure I would have badgered all the councillors. The council is awash with our money, don't let them spend it on their own pet projects, make thwm spend it on yours.

No bottle - what are you talking about! The little ... that burnt it down needs to be brought to justice. He can pay for it. There needs to be consequences for actions like this by building another one in its place is condoning that sort of behaviour.

It burned down !

Replace it !

No, sorry, but if the community is so effing dysfunctional that it burns down these facilities. Tough luck.

Rebuilding defiantly just encourages more pyros.

Yes, bring him to justice, run the family out of town, make them pay, put a lien on their property.

Just saying "Its gone, lets 'ave another one" is simply burying your head like ostriches.

Justice first, reconstruction later.

Let the charred remains be a reminder of the crime.

And in the meantime, why nobheads are deciding what they can or cannot do with the alleged offender, (It is only speculation as to who did it or for what reason at the moment)
What are those little innocent children who had nothing to do with it going to do? Play with the bath water every day!

Let the charred wreck stand as a permanent memorial to vandalism.

Kids will learn that if one of their own burn down a play area, it hurts everyone.

In the fullness of time, build another somewhere else. Eg on Dawlish Lawn. (Teignmouth's play area is in a prominent site)

I'm not being soft on crime. It is was proven the culprit was responsible, and the next day he was found face down in the Brook. I wouldn't be bothered. Poetic justice.
