Not many people on the beach, the town and cafe's were packed. Good news for the traders.

 The hanging baskets and flowers around  the town look great.

beautiful day today @ZIGGY.  lucky we weren't in the south east today by the sounds of it!  not wishing to spoil it i did report the apparent sewerage leak at junction of exeter rd/henty rd to sww earlier today and they said they'd look into it.  is it my imagination or is the sewerage system in dawlish buckling under the strain?

Yes beautiful day. Travelled back to Dawlish from Newton Abbot on train. Lovely journey any day but absolutely stunning on days like today. Tide was out. Saw lots of kids exploring the exposed rocks on the various beaches and having a great time. 

Thank you for reporting the apparent sewerage leak Flo. I saw it as I was going out but although I had phone I didn't have SWW phone number to hand.

Just seen the weather on the tv that the south-east had today. Did you see the amount of rain that Worthing had!? Seems it was a month's worth of rain in one day. Wonder how our sewerage system would cope if we had that amount of rain in that amount of time in Dawlish?    

...and horrendous hailstones in S.London.  I'll give you one good guess where the sewage goes when the rain is torrential...it's designed not to follow it's normal treatment route...so let's just say it may be worth thinking about whether swimming is such a good idea straight afterwards...
