Please note that new users trying to sign up to dawlish.com cannot use Microsoft email addresses. This is because Microsoft has a blanket ban on various hosting companies it dislikes. Email addresses include those ending in:-
outlook.com
outlook.co.uk
live.com
live.co.uk
hotmail.com
hotmail.co.uk
microsoft.com
microsoft.co.uk
msn.com
msn.co.uk
passport.com
passport.co.uk
The problem will be addressed in a future website update.
Do not worry, dawlish.com is safe and secure, but as mentioned, Microsoft has banned vast swathes of hosting companies (ours included) from being able to send emails to its mail servers (outlook.com, live.com, etc.).
The irony is that Microsoft allows users on its IP range to try to hack into other people's mail servers. This is one from earlier this morning.
The IP 20.199.182.5 has just been banned by Fail2Ban after 3 attempts against postfix-sasl. This is a reminder to people trying to sign up with an outlook email address. You cannot get emails from this website because Microsoft blocks them. Please use an alternate email address.
It looks like iCloud emails are unable to sign up too. Apologies for the inconvenience whilst a solution is sought.
The basic "thinking" from the big players (Microsoft, Apple, e.g.) is that, if someone used a white ford van to commit a crime then all white ford van users must be held responsible.
