Network Rail will be installing a series of protection measures, from netting designed to retain the cliffs in some high-risk locations, as well as catch fences, which will stop any cliff material before it reaches the railway.
The work is expected to take until spring 2024 and is being carried out by contractor BAM Nuttall, who recently completed the new sea wall at Dawlish for Network Rail.
