@neilh & @Carer - thanks for that. awesome to sit, watch and marvel at. @Andysport - apparently not recommended for eating. though in nz we had "muttonbirds" - also a seabird, related to a cormorant. quite a palaver to prepare ..... mind you, you might have seen my recipes online for them?

A compandre of mine is Chef de Cuisine in a new restaurant about to open in Bloomington, Illonois, USA, featuring Greek Cuisine. A bit of a drive for lunch I know ;-) But they have just featured on TV over there, with a brief cooking lesson. @neilh - nice one! that is brilliant :-) A man after my own heart, I love food related literature ..... Poems and fictional novels. As to history, I devour anything ancient, as in Egyptology, Crusades and Asia (great tv document last night on Tutenkamen) And as you say, when the three collide, all the better. But any mix of the three suits me. I completed a great degree of research ...

@Brazilnut - yep, that's me! Well my "old" website. Had to discontinue with it, as my webmaster for it, fell ill and I as a result I lost all my login rights. I'm surprised it's all still online :-) If you Googled Chef Tallyrand, I'm sure you came across many other references etc. Looking forward however to new culinary adventures, being based in SUNNY Dawlish and making a success of ...

Hi Andysport Yes, I am "thee Chef Tallyrand"! Yes, the one that was based in NZ. Have moved back to UK (sick of the eathquakes in NZ) and have decided to base myself in WONDERFUL Dawlish :-D Not sure where you know my name from, but will be more than happy to meet for coffee (REAL coffee) when you get down here and pick some apples etc I am now posting regular recipes and articles here ...

I see a new seabird has turned up on the coastline. They fly around and hen suddenly drop out of he sky into the sea to catch fish. Fascinating to see. Anyone know what they are?

Library has wi-fi and the signal can be picked up from the cafe across the road. Normal login required, so you will have to join the library

Might be a nice permanent feature on the front page if possible?

@ZIGGY - my guests certainly loved them and have left with a "doggy bag" along with some of the home made jam :-) As with most things it's all about, practice, practice, practice & experience.
