We only advertise events organised by the Town Council in the town crier, plus significant activities such as the Air Show.  There are so many events in the town, we have to draw the line somewhere.  It's a shame this one didn't work out for the stall holders and the organisers. We need to avoid the media story becoming unchallenged that Dawlish is "the problem". Please Dawlish people challenge when you see this happening !

Dawlish station is now OPEN. I spoke to Mr Chorley from FGW. Station was closed for safety checks on the Canopy. They are now satisfied there is no damage, and the station is re-open. Disruption to Dawlish passengers, but no effect on the wider service as trains continued to run through all day. The following materials CANNOT be accepted: Trade waste, plasterboard, asbestos, demolition & construction waste (in excess of 12 rubble sacks), tyres, dead pets or animals, food waste, hazardous or toxic wastes, oils and other liquid wastes, tree branches in excess of 1.5 metres (5ft). But, good news, TV’s, monitors and VDU’s are accepted at the Rural Skip Service.

The Town Council has paid for the skip service to be in town again on Saturday 22nd November Barton Hill Car Park from 9:30 to 15:30 You might like to put this date in your diaries now, so you can plan to empty those cupboards and garages !

@flo We are assured that with other funding they have in place, the 10k is sufficient for the next year. And of course we will look to continue helping them in future Looking longer term they definitely will need volunteer help to keep everything going, so if anyone out there wants to help please do get in touch with Dawlish Action for Youth ...
